City and Space

City and Space

In the group project City and Space, and in cooperation with the building department of the city of Constance, a communication concept was to be developed. The aim was to communicate the numerous building projects to the citizens of Constance. Once we had agreed on a common basic concept for use of form, fonts and color, I took over the illustration, motion graphics and AR work.

I designed simple animated illustrations, that could serve as key visuals for the different projects on the website of the building department and on social media. In addition I created the concept for an AR-Window that would illustrate the projects directly on the future construction sites.

Christiani wiesen

Christiani Wiesen is a project that explores the potential of sustainable living spaces. The houses are not just places to live, but the project capitalises on the additional surface area that the houses create for solar energy, green spaces and water reuse.

Mobility

The Masterplan Mobility in Constance included the idea of a cable car that runs over the Seerhein flowing through the city. A "water bus" was also part of the new concepts to make the most of Constance's location on the shores of Lake Constance.

Telekom Areal

The old Telekom building was part of a conversion project. The old Boureau tower is being converted to accommodate the ever-growing population of Constance. The area around the Telekom building is to be used as a space for leisure and community.

Design Concept

An important basic requirement of my design concept was to generate attention and reach people directly where they are. Simple illustrations in the respective colour of the project area (housing, mobility, open space, etc.) were to be representative of the individual construction projects. Each project was to have its own small animation, which could serve as a visual guide on social media.

It was important to me to reach out to citizens directly at the future construction sites and make them aware of the projects and changes that will affect them personally. Therefore I developed the idea of an AR window. A metal stand directly at the future construction sites. A small window makes it possible to view the future projects in a short information video via augmented reality. A short text on the stand-up display provides a rough overview of the construction project, while a small mailbox with brochures is available for a more detailed examination. To demonstrate the idea I created a short concept video.
